19-23 February - ACSC Basketball

Double Double Blocks continue this week. During Friday's activity period, homeroom leaders will have a training session, the ExCo representatives will have a parliament meeting, and students going on the March break ministry trip will meet with Mark Ellis. Once again, any remaining students get a long lunch.

The ACSC Basketball players will be traveling this week. Pray for them as they travel, play, and relate to students from the other ACSC schools. At this point, the week of 12 March is the only week left this quarter during which students will not be traveling.

You should also have gotten a link to this Homework Survey via email, but if you haven't yet, take a few minutes and fill it out. I have had numerous conversations with teachers about students not completing assigned homework, so I'm on a mission to figure out why that is and what we can do to help mitigate the problem. This survey is the first step in that process.

Please have updated grades posted for all your classes by this Friday, 23 February. We will be letting parents know that mid-quarter grades will be available at that time.

There will be an all school chapel Tuesday of next week, 27 February. We will focus on our theme for the year: In Christ, We Do Hard Things. It will mess up our double double schedule, but I'm not sure how yet. If you have a brilliant idea of how to adjust for a 45 minute chapel that morning, let me know. My current thought is to make Monday odd blocks and have shorter periods 1-8 on Tuesday, but I know that messes up lesson planning between classes.

Our accreditation visit is coming up on 5-8 March. As you plan ahead, remember that the team requested that all classes be engaged in active learning during that time. That means you may not be giving extended written assessments, showing movies, or other "hands off" activities. Let me know if you have any questions about that.

The accreditation team would also like to meet with you as a group, so the divisional meeting that Tuesday will be spent doing that. Two of the team members will meet with you all as a group in the high school lounge. They will likely be asking questions about the school, its programs, and your involvement. It is not a time to air grievances or express complaints you may have.

On Tuesday I will be with the team at the Senate hearing for our EIIC bill. Pray that we represent Faith and its mission well and that we find favor with the senators with whom we will be sharing.
