Keeping Perspective

Five weeks left to the end of the school year!  That certainly caught me off guard. :-) It's so good to be reminded that the Lord is unfazed by the flying time.

Progress Reports: Mid quarter reports are due on Monday on April 27 at 7am. This will take the place of the eligibility report that week. Only achievement grades need to be reported (i.e no deportment grades required.) Please just write-over the ACH grade from the last reporting. Do not create another column or task.  If you've forgotten how to do something in Markbooks, please access the tutorial here
Important Note: If you have students who are in danger of getting a D or F in the final report card, please make sure this is accurately reflected in this progress report. It is critical that both parents and students are made aware of the situation so necessary steps can be taken to improve on the grades.

Tuesday afternooon: There will be divisional meeting on Tuesday afternoon. See you at the staff lounge at 2:35pm.

- Staff needs: Praise God for sending us two new staff members for HSD. Micah Dowell will be working under the Guidance and Chaplain's office to coordinate the various students programs planned for next school year. Paul Van Natta will be working with the learning support group as he comes to us with many many years experience in this area. Even as we praise the Lord, let's continually ask for His help with our other critical needs: Life Science, US History, IG ESL. There are other needs of course but for these there are a few more people 'in the pipeline' that we are hoping will work out. Do be praying please for all these needs not just in our division but throughout the school.

- A short week:  We have a holiday coming up. There will be no classes on Friday, May 1 in honor of Labor Day. This weekend (Friday to Sunday) is also Family Home Weekend. According to policy, "...No school-sponsored activities will be scheduled. New homework will not be assigned, but long-term assignments may be due the first day following the break." Please be guided accordingly.

Thank you all for hanging in there!
